LaRouche Issues Emergency Message
on Glass-Steagall Mobilization

May 27, 2011 (EIRNS)—Lyndon LaRouche delivered a special emergency message on LPAC-TV yesterday, demanding that leading politicians from both parties immediately take a stand, and re-enact Glass-Steagall now. The approximately 25-minute statement can be found on www.larouchepac.com, and should be given the widest possible circulation.

LaRouche emphasized, that in recent days, there has emerged a movement among more sensible leading political figures in the United States, who realize that the President has "lost it," along with Geithner and Bernanke, and that the nation must go to FDR's Glass-Steagall now!

The United States is in extreme danger, LaRouche said, including from the dangerous set of storms that are hitting in the Midwest. But the President doesn't care about human lives. The only way in which those lives, and the nation as a whole, can be saved is through Glass-Steagall, which will let us set aside the gambling debts taken on by the Federal government in the bailout. I warned people against the bailout in 2008, LaRouche recalled, and they didn't listen. They had better listen now.

President Obama's role in all this, LaRouche said, is that he's a "nuisance, an obstacle to progress." The problem lies with those leading politicians who are keeping him in place. There has to be a break from partisan politics. "Any Democrat supporting Obama is a damned fool, at best." The nation needs politics of conscience, not party—and the U.S. Senate is particularly important for leading such a move.
