E-Mails Reveal That Sniper Attacks
in the Maidan Were by the Opposition

March 6, 2014 (EIRNS)—A story released yesterday by Russia Today, based on intercepts of a phone conversation between EU Foreign Secretary Catherine Ashton and Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet, provides evidence that it was the Maidan protesters, not the Yan;ukovych government, who did the sniper firing at both police and protesters in the Maidan February 20. It was this violent outbreak which has been used as the justification for the vilification and subsequent removal of Yanukovych, illegally, from office.

Paet told RIA-Novosti that he had talked from Ashton on Feb. 25, after he had returned from Kiev. The conversation had apparently been hacked by officers of the Ukrainian Security Services loyal to Yanukovych. In the conversation Paet said that the snipers who shot at protesters and police in Kiev were hired by Maidan leaders.

These revelations, which obviously call for further investigation, are coherent with the intelligence reported by other Ukrainian sources, including Dr. Natalia Vitrenko and observers at the time of the murderous assault.
