PRESS RELEASE

More FBI Documents on Probe of Saudi-9/11 Connection Are Made Public, As 80,000 Pages Are Turned Over to Florida Federal Judge

May 11, 2014 (EIRNS)—The U.S. Justice Department has belatedly turned over 80,000 pages of documents concerning the FBI’s 9/11 investigation out of its Tampa Field Office, to the federal judge in Florida presiding over a Freedom of Information Act case involving a wealthy Saudi family, formerly living in Sarasota, Florida, that was linked to a number of the 9/11 pilots and hijackers.

At the same time, on Friday the FBI released four more pages concerning its investigation into the Sarasota Saudis, and has officially named the Saudi businessman and advisor to the Saudi royal family, Esam Ghazzawi, who rented the home in a gated community in Sarasota which, it has been documented by investigative journalists Dan Christenson and Anthony Summers, was visited and phoned by three of the 9/11 pilots and other terrorist-linked individuals. Ghazzawi’s house was about ten miles from the Venice, Florida airfield where Mohammad Atta and other 9/11 pilots took flight training.

One of the newly-released documents repeats that the FBI had found "many connections" between Ghazzawi and the 9/11 terrorists. Ghazzawi and his family abruptly fled from the Sarasota house about two weeks before the 9/11 attacks. "On or about 8/27/01 his family fled their house in Sarasota leaving behind valuable items in a manner indicating they left quickly without prior preparation," says an FBI "case narrative’ written on April 16, 2002, according to reports in the Miami Herald and the Broward Bulldog.

An FBI official submitted a declaration to Federal Judge William Zloch, stating that the FBI is turning over 80,266 pages in its Tampa file on 9/11 for the judge’s private inspection; the documents are both in digital and hard-copy form. Judge Zloch will then determine if more documents should be released publicly.

The production and release of these documents will increase the pressure on Obama to stop his coverup of the crucial Saudi role in the 9/11 attacks, and to release the suppressed 28 pages from the Congressional Joint Inquiry into 9/11—which were censored by the Bush Administration in 2003, and whose suppression has been continued to the present day by the Obama Administration. The FBI’s investigation into the Sarasota Saudi-9/11 connection was never reported to either the Congressional Joint Inquiry or the 9/11 Commission.
