German Linke Party: Confrontationism against Russia Leads to World War
Oct. 19, 2016 (EIRNS)—Sahra Wagenknecht, parliamentary group chairwoman of the German Linke party, welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s arrival in Berlin for the Normandy Four meeting this evening, calling this a good opportunity to have a serious discussion between him and the German Chancellor. Resuming the dialogue is most appropriate in this precarious situation, Wagenknecht urged, because
"a confrontationist drive against Russia is to the disadvantage of Germany and endangers world peace.... Threatening gestures, sanctions, more arms-buildup or an expansion of military engagements do not solve any problem but only create new ones. That is true for Ukraine as well as for Syria."
