Senior British Journalist: Trump Will Destroy NATO, Apocalypse Now!

June 29, 2018 (EIRNS)—Edward Lucas, a former senior editor at The Economist, now writing a weekly column in the London Times and an author of books on Putin (New Cold War: Putin’s Russia and the Threat to the West), went stark raving mad in a radio interview regarding the Trump-Putin summit, which he said,

“shouldn’t be happening at all, and certainly should not be happening after the NATO summit. All the NATO allies are very worried about Mr. Trump’s unpredictability. They can see that he may storm out of the NATO summit the way he stormed out of the G7 in Quebec, and then go off to Helsinki to do goodness-knows-what in his one-on-one meeting with Putin....

“If he were meeting Putin before the NATO summit, then at least the NATO leaders would be able to repair any damage that is done. But people are talking in very apocalyptic terms.”
