Sen. Rand Paul and Rep. Peter King Implicate Former CIA Director Brennan

March 28, 2019 (EIRNS)—While President Donald Trump directly accused former CIA Director John Brennan of lying to Congress last night, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) this afternoon tweeted:

“BREAKING: A high-level source tells me it was Brennan who insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier be included in the Intelligence Report [a classified January 2017 report on alleged Russian interference in the 2016 elections]... Brennan should be asked to testify under oath in Congress ASAP.”

If this is true, then in this way Brennan helped to build the false credibility of British MI6 agent Christopher Steele’s report and lead ultimately to its publication.

Senator Paul’s tweet takes on more importance in light of the British Guardian’s coverage that then-British intelligence GCHQ head Robert Hannigan approached Brennan as early as 2015 to investigate supposed intercepted communications between the Russian government and the Trump Campaign. If true, then this was one of the routes of importation of this actually-British information warfare campaign into the U.S., through Brennan.

Fox News quotes a tweet by Rep. Peter King (R-NY) that Brennan’s with false charges of “treason, collusion, etc.” against the President, were “Disgraceful!”
