Mike Flynn Case Heats Up with New Bombshell Motion

Sept. 12, 2019 (EIRNS)—Judge Emmett Sullivan has set an Oct. 31st hearing in the Michael Flynn case in order to determine whether Robert Mueller’s prosecution team committed flagrant violations of their duty to produce exculpatory materials, necessitating dismissal of the charges against Gen. Michael Flynn (ret.) and criminal contempt proceedings against Mueller’s prosecutors.

Flynn’s attorney Sidney Powell is pursuing a broad “totality of the circumstances” argument: Had the exculpatory evidence she is seeking been revealed, Flynn would not have pled guilty, a guilty plea coerced by hiding evidence of Flynn’s complete innocence, threatening an indictment of Flynn’s son, and nearly bankrupting the former Trump National Security Adviser as the result of multiple investigations and proceedings against him.

On Sept. 11th, Powell filed a redacted version of her motion, formerly filed under seal, listing the specific exculpatory materials she is seeking. The specificity of the documents she seeks indicates that she has very good reason to know they exist and is not shooting in the dark.  Flynn was targetted by British operatives, working in close collaboration with Obama’s intelligence chiefs way back in 2014, when he headed Defense Intelligence Agency, under the phony pretext that he was a Russian agent.

Among the operatives involved were former MI6 agent Christopher Steele, former MI6 Chief Sir Richard Dearlove, former MI5 historian Sir Christopher Andrew, Joseph Mifsud, and Stefan Halper. Halper, Steele, and Dearlove were involved in fabricating an alleged affair between Flynn and Russian Cambridge University historian Svetlana Lokhova, to justify targetting him as a potential Russian asset.  Steele’s bogus dossier claims that all of Flynn’s contacts with the Russians were paid for as part of a directed operation by the Russian intelligence services. This and other defamatory accusations resulted in Flynn being fired as Director of the Obama’s Defense Intelligence Agency.

Powell is seeking numerous documents concerning Flynn’s targeting from the period 2014-2016 involving these British operatives.  Flynn was targeted because of his insistence that the Obama Administration was deliberately supporting Al Qaeda and other Islamist terrorists in its efforts to overthrow the Bashar Assad government in Syria and because he wanted to pursue joint operations with the Russians against Islamic terrorism.

When Flynn began working with the Trump presidential campaign, the charge that he and his son were agents of Turkey was added to the derogatory dossier. Former Clinton CIA Director James Woolsey, the notorious sponsor of Ahmed Chalabi, whose fake intelligence led to the Iraq War, claimed that Flynn was working to kidnap Turkish President Erdogan’s foe Fethullah Gülen from the United States.  At the same time, Flynn became one of four targets in FBI Director James Comey’s bogus Cross-Fire Hurricane investigation, officially entered into the FBI system in July 2016, concerning alleged Trump campaign ties to Russia.

On his second full day of official duties as President Donald Trump’s National Security Adviser, Flynn was set up to be fired as the result of a plot hatched at the highest levels of the Justice Department, the FBI, and the intelligence community. The trap was first set on Jan. 12, when someone leaked the contents of a classified conversation between Flynn and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak, a part of which allegedly concerned Obama’s proposed sanctions against Russia, to the Washington Post’s David Ignatius. Whoever the leaker was committed a felony and Flynn’s lawyer Powell appears to believe that the leak came from CIA Director James Clapper or someone in his shop.

Then, Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, acting at the behest of the renegade James Comey called Flynn and said he wanted to send a couple of agents over for a relaxed interview, which would not require Flynn to have a lawyer. The lead agent interviewing Flynn on Jan. 24, 2017, and recording what would later be alleged to be his false statements, was none other than Peter Strzok, who famously plotted with his lover, McCabe’s counsel Lisa Page, to stop Trump’s ascension to the Presidency. It is noteworthy that everyone involved in this chain at the FBI has since been fired for cause because of their overt roles in the attempted coup against Trump.

According to Comey’s subsequent testimony, the FBI did not believe that Flynn had deliberately to them or deceived them in his interview on the Kislyak conversation. But Robert Mueller ran with the White House interview and Flynn’s Turkish lobbying activities in a campaign of harassment aimed to coerce a plea.

Powell’s discovery requests are specifically directed to the players in this sequence of events, some of them previously unpublicized, as well as those involved in the media campaign against General Flynn. Included among her requests, is one for all documents concerning the entire three-year targetting of Flynn by the U.S. and British intelligence communities.
