Roger Stone Insists His Prison Sentence ‘Is Essentially a Death Sentence’

April 19, 2020 (EIRNS)—Roger Stone told TV host Tucker Carlson April 17 that the prison sentence against him is a death sentence. “So at this point, the judge has ordered me to surrender in two weeks and at 67 years old, with some underlying health problems, including a history of asthma, I believe with the coronavirus, it is essentially a death sentence,” Stone was quoted as saying by The Hill yesterday.

Stone was sentenced to more than three years in prison in February for alleged “lying to Congress and witness tampering.” Stone asked for a new trial on the grounds that the jury forewoman, openly made anti-Trump statements on her social media during the trial, showing an outrageous open bias. U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson denied the retrial.

After the denial, President Trump tweeted,

“This is a disgraceful situation!” in his introduction to retweeting Charlie Kirk’s tweet from April 16: “BREAKING: Roger Stone is DENIED a new trial by Obama Judge Amy Berman-Jackson Despite a stacked, partisan jury Despite a rigged, unfair sentencing process He STILL faces prison time while Comey & Clinton walk free This is a disgrace. RT for a FULL PARDON of Roger Stone!”
