First Mass Vaccine Trial in U.S. Opens

July 27, 2020 (EIRNS)—There are 30,000 volunteers nationwide involved in the Phase 3 trial of Moderna’s vaccine, which is part of the Operation Warp Speed crash program. The first dose was administered in Savannah, Georgia, this morning. Four weeks from now, the trial group will receive a booster shot. HHS’s Warp Speed funding has allowed manufacturing upgrades that position Moderna with the capacity to produce at least 500 million doses in 2021.
