Ratcliffe Proves, No Russian Acts To Interfere in Elections

Oct. 22, 2020 (EIRNS)—Although every major news outlet in the U.S. is reporting today that the Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told an impromptu press conference Wednesday night, Oct. 21, that “Iran and Russia” have interfered in the 2020 U.S. election, in fact he said, specifically, that Iran had done so, and that: “We have not seen the same acts from Russia,” but only that “we are aware that they have received some voter registrations, just as they did in 2016.”

DNI Ratcliffe appeared with FBI Director Christopher Wray, who took the podium after Ratcliffe. Looking quite upset, Wray rambled that we will stop any foreign interference in the election, but was unable to repeat his often-stated contention that Russia has already interfered in the 2020 elections, given that Ratcliffe had just reported that they had not.

Ratcliffe also stated directly that the Iranian actions are intended to “incite public distrust and damage President Trump.” Iran is accused of sending fake emails to Democrats under the name “Proud Boys” (which the coup-plotters have claimed is a white supremacist group which Trump somehow supports) telling them to vote for Trump “or else.” This follows the Lincoln Project (anti-Trump Republicans) sending the email out, implying that the supposed Proud Boys email was a Trump dirty trick to intimidate Democrats (they took it down when it was exposed).

Not only did the media simply lie, and refused to transcribe the relevant section of Ratcliffe’s statement regarding Russia, but they have gone on a tirade against Ratcliffe, especially due to his finding that the Hunter Biden laptop (“the laptop from Hell” as Trump calls it) has been proven not to be Russian disinformation. A New York Times headline reads: The Intelligence Director Who Is Undermining Trust and Truth—John Ratcliffe is breaking norms, which could weaken our defenses,” by John Sipher, a former CIA chief of station in Russia. Sipher calls Ratcliffe “among the most destructive intelligence officials in U.S. history.... While a traitor or mole inside our spy agencies can do tremendous damage, only a deeply partisan intelligence leader can undermine the very system of trust that underpins our intelligence establishment.” He goes on to say that the only pair as bad as Trump and Ratcliffe were Gen. Douglas MacArthur and his intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Charles Willoughby!

“Methinks the lady doth protest too much.”
