Predictably, British Media Claim Biden Win in Presidential Debate—But They Are Nervous

Oct. 25, 2020 (EIRNS)—A round-up of British press reports shows a predictable response to the presidential debates, and to the outcome of the election, with all of them rooting for Biden—albeit it more nervously than before. For example, the Guardian displayed a “panel of experts,” each of whom made more idiotic comments than the one before: “Donald Trump has absolutely nothing to say”; “Trump needed a big win, and didn’t get it”; “the big issues weren’t addressed, and the debate was frustrating.” The weekly Economist produced a brand new poll showing Biden in the lead, but nervously warned readers that “Trump might still win,” citing the ghost of “remember what happened to Hillary Clinton.”
