Biden Gang Dictates Censorship of Facebook for Letting ‘Misleading’ Reports on Election Fraud

Nov. 11, 2020 (EIRNS)—What’s a little quashing of freedom of speech? Bill Russo, a deputy communications director for the Biden campaign, issued a flurry of tweets on Nov. 9, attacking Facebook for failing to clamp down on what he called “misleading” reports and “conspiracy theories” about election fraud against President Donald Trump in the Nov. 3 elections. “If you thought disinformation on Facebook was a problem during our election, just wait until you see how it is shredding the fabric of our democracy in the days after,” Russo raved.

In at least eight tweets, Russo lamented that unlike Twitter, which has placed restrictions on labeled tweets, meaning they couldn’t be retweeted, Facebook has irresponsibly allowed President Trump’s tweets—labeled as disinformation—to be widely shared, Business Insider reported. “We knew this would happen,” Russo’s Twitter thread concluded. “We pleaded with Facebook for over a year to be serious about these problems. They have not. Our democracy is on the line. We need answers.” On Thursday, Nov. 5, Facebook did begin to limit or demote posts related to charges of vote fraud and the recent elections.

In a Nov. 10 column reported by Zero Hedge, George Washington University Law School Prof. Jonathan Turley attacked Russo’s outrageous call for censorship, pointing out that no one in the Biden camp thought that Twitter’s squelching of the New York Post story on Hunter Biden and Biden family corruption was a threat to democracy. Russo’s comments

“mirror the comments of other Democrats who are seeking greater censorship.... I do not know when the Democratic Party became the party for censorship. However, limiting free speech is now a rallying cry for Democratic members and activists alike.... Russo’s comments reaffirm that the Biden Administration will continue this assault against Internet free speech.”
