Boston Removes Emancipation Statue of Abraham Lincoln and Archer Alexander

Jan. 3 , 2021 (EIRNS)—In a pathetic continuation of policies promoted to divide Americans in a way designed to prevent unified efforts to defeat the existential threat of the Great Reset, Boston on Dec. 29 removed from its downtown a replica of the Washington, D.C. Freedmen’s Memorial.

Sculpted by Boston artist Thomas Ball, the Washington, D.C. memorial had been paid for by former slaves on a subscription basis, and Frederick Douglass spoke at its 1876 dedication, where he praised Lincoln’s role. The monument depicts Lincoln gesturing to the Emancipation Proclamation, as freedman Archer Alexander rises from the ground, his shackles broken and the key to his chains grasped firmly in his own hand.

With the bronze removed, the base, which remains in Boston, reads “A race set free and the country set at peace. Lincoln rests from his labors.” Boston Mayor Marty Walsh released a statement supporting the monument’s removal, saying that it played a “role in perpetuating harmful prejudices and obscuring the role of Black Americans in shaping the nation’s fight for freedom.” But apparently it’s just fine to “obscure the role of Black Americans” who worked together to fund the creation of a monument celebrating the defeat of slavery!

Speaking in favor of the monument at the hearing before the Boston Art Commission, which voted last summer to remove the monument, were the great-great-great grandson of Archer Alexander and Dorris Keeven-Franke, Alexander’s biographer.

The removal of the Boston replica will no doubt be used to increase pressure for the removal of the original monument in Washington, D.C..

The true enemies of the American people is the British Empire and its military-financial-intelligence slime mold at the City of London, Wall Street, and Washington D.C. But to play its assigned role in breaking up organizing along anti-oligarchical lines, the Democratic Party establishment has dutifully acted to divide Americans along racialist lines, rather than to serve as defenders of the general welfare against the Great Reset that threatens all but the most “elite” members of society.
