Pompeo Issues One, Last Vicious Assault on China, Charging ‘Genocide’ in Xinjiang

Jan. 20 , 2021 (EIRNS)—It is with good reason that the Chinese government announced sanctions today on Mike Pompeo. With one day remaining before leaving his post as Secretary of State, this lunatic issued a last, vicious attack on China, charging, in a psychotic, racist tirade, that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and the Chinese government were guilty of violating the Nuremberg crimes, and were committing genocide against the Uighur people and other minorities in Xinjiang. Note that the same day, Secretary of State-designate Tony Blinken said that he agreed with Pompeo’s judgment that China was committing genocide.

In his statement, “Determination of the Secretary of State on Atrocities in Xinjiang,” Pompeo lies outrageously that the CCP maintains control over the “long-suffering Chinese people” through “brainwashing and brute force,” and that “under the direction and control of the CCP” the People’s Republic of China has committed crimes against humanity and genocide.

“The governing authorities of the second most economically, militarily, and politically powerful country on Earth have made clear that they are engaged in the forced assimilation and eventual erasure of a vulnerable ethnic and religious minority group, even as they simultaneously assert their country as a global leader and attempt to remold the international system in their image.”

Pompeo demanded that the P.R.C. release all detainees, and cease whatever crimes of which he claims it is guilty—“population-control” measures, torture and persecution of ethnic minorities, forced detentions, etc. He announced that the U.S. is calling on all relevant multilateral and juridical bodies to hold accountable all those responsible for the alleged atrocities. He further claimed he has “directed the State Department” to continue investigating these alleged crimes and provide evidence to “appropriate authorities and the international community” to urge them to continue the attack. “Beijing’s atrocities in Xinjiang represent an extreme affront to the Uighurs, the people of China, and civilized people everywhere,” Pompeo raved. “We will not remain silent. If the Chinese Communist Party is allowed to commit genocide and crimes against humanity against its own people, imagine what it will be emboldened to do to the free world, in the not-so-distant future.”
