Tulsi Gabbard Denounces Surveillance of ‘Domestic Terrorists’

Jan. 24 , 2021 (EIRNS)—Appearing on Fox News, former Rep. Tulsi Gabbard responded to proposals to target what is called domestic terrorism: “It’s so dangerous.... This is an issue that all Democrats, Republicans, independents, libertarians should be extremely concerned about. Especially because we don’t have to guess about where this goes, or how this ends, when you have people like former CIA Director John Brennan openly talking about how he’s spoken with or heard from with appointees and nominees in the Biden administration who are already starting to look across our country for these types of movements similar to the insurgencies they’ve seen overseas, who, in his words, make up an ‘unholy alliance’ of religious extremists, racists, bigots ... and ‘even libertarians.’ ”

“What is a religious extremist?” asks Gabbard. Does this include pro-life activists? Who is a libertarian? Anyone who supports liberty? This leads to a dangerous undermining of civil liberties.

The new domestic terror law introduced by Adam Schiff is wrong, because it will undermine our Constitutional rights and freedoms. Calls for “deprogramming” Trump supporters simply tear our country apart. This is a dehumanization of others, and Joe Biden must denounce John Brennan and bills like Adam Schiff’s, and speak up for the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the rights endowed by our Creator.
