Syrian Investigators Say U.S. Military Occupation Illegal and Destabilizing Eastern Syria
June 12 , 2021 (EIRNS)—The Syrian Military Public Prosecution issued a statement yesterday not only reiterating the illegality of the U.S. military occupation of parts of eastern Syria but also charging that the illegitimate U.S. presence on the Syrian territory is a major factor of instability and impedes the political settlement of the crisis in the country. The statement, reported the official news agency SANA, underlined that Washington’s allegations regarding combatting terrorism have become exposed and the presence of its forces in Syria is to maintain its armed terrorist groups, including Daesh (ISIS), and others terrorist groups in order to achieve its interests in the region, far from the interests of the Syrian people. This includes the theft of the Syrian resources of gas and wheat and transporting them outside the border, “in a precedent that this world has not witnessed since the World War II.”
“The investigations showed with conclusive evidence that the Washington selected large numbers of terrorists, some of them from Daesh terrorists detained in prisons of groups loyal to Washington and transported them to its military bases at al-Tanf and other bases where they received intensive military training lasts three weeks under the supervision of U.S. instructors to train them to carry out subversive and terrorist attacks and to use modern reconnaissance equipment and means,”
the statement said. The statement pointed to statements of some of those militants and their leaders which confirmed they participated, in exchange for money.
The statement stressed that what it presented in its statement is only a bit, “and now we have conclusive evidence of crimes of terrorists affiliated to extremist armed groups that receive U.S. support, allowing us to directly accuse the U.S. or its role in preparing and implementing terrorist operations in the territory of a sovereign state and member of the United Nations.”ignores the British Empire); and that the money could be spent for useful projects to build a world with a shared future for all of mankind, as China has proposed, or for providing health care delivery systems in every country—certainly within the context of U.S. defense—as the Committee for the Coincidence of Opposites, headed by Schiller Institute Chair Helga Zepp-LaRouche and former U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders MD.
