Lukashenko Warns of Danger of World War III

Feb. 27, 2022 (EIRNS)—RT reported that Belarus President Alexandr Lukashenko warned today that the sanctions being imposed by the West could push Russia against the wall. “Now there is a lot of talk against the banking sector. Gas, oil, SWIFT. It’s worse than war. This is pushing Russia into a third world war. We need to be restrained here so as not to get into trouble. Because nuclear war is the end of everything,” said Lukashenko.

In regard to the sanctions, Lukashenko said that both Russia and Belarus will survive whatever is thrown at them. “We have experience. We discussed this theme with Putin more than once. We’ll survive. It is impossible to starve us to death,” he said. RT paraphrased his comments, reporting that: “Retaliatory measures being developed by Moscow and Minsk will be ‘very tangible,’ but it is important to think them over ‘very carefully,’ Lukashenko said,” in order to avoid harming themselves. “The Belarusian leader has also said if the West moved to put nuclear weapons in bordering countries, he would ask Putin to ‘return’ its own nuclear weapons to Belarus,” wrote RT.
