The Future Lies with You!

April 26, 2022 (EIRNS)—A war is now taking place, of NATO against Russia, fought primarily on Ukrainian soil and involving primarily Ukrainian soldiers (and civilians). London’s The Economist, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, and the Atlantic Council are just a few of the Anglo-American institutions taking a lead in promoting not peace, but a decisive military defeat for Russia, fighting that nation’s forces even if it takes every last Ukrainian to do so. U.K. Armed Forces Minister James Heappey reasoned aloud that it is “acceptable” for U.K.-supplied arms to be used by Ukraine to strike against targets within Russia: “It is entirely legitimate to go after military targets in the depth of your opponent to disrupt their logistics and supply lines.” Will Russia apply the same reasoning towards those countries lavishing weapons upon Ukraine (and billions upon the arms merchants)?

The trend is towards escalation, not resolution. This path, followed to its conclusion, ends in what would become nuclear warfare, potentially destroying humanity worldwide—and for what? To defend a lie about Ukraine? To defend a world order that has lost what the Chinese might refer to as “the mandate of heaven”? Words like “democracy” (whatever that even means anymore) “human rights,” and “the rule of law” have no meaning if they are not applied to the theft of Afghanistan’s meager bank reserves, being held hostage predominantly by the U.S., which has also stolen hundreds of billions of dollars of Russian reserves. Unilateral sanctions against Russia are already having a rippling effect throughout the world, which could cause up to 1 billion people to face starvation.

But that is not the only cause of the hyperinflation sweeping the world. A commitment to bail out the financial centers of the City of London and Wall Street has given rise to enormous levels of money printing. And an active destruction of physical economic potential is being carried out by those flying a “Green” banner. Farmers desperate to grow more food to avert the onrushing famine are told by the EU and the U.S. Department of Agriculture that climate goals come first and plans to take land out of cultivation should not be altered.

Even as over 1 billion people on this planet lack reliable access to power, the green terrorists decapitate plans for reliable power plants, and seek to subject the world to low-density, unreliable power—all this, now, in the name of fighting Putin.

There is no future—not even the intent of creating a future—under such a paradigm!

The most urgent task confronting people of good will around the world is the creation of a new system—a new security and development architecture for the world, coherent with the idea that man is in the living image of God, and that therefore each human life is sacred.

Already an expression of such a system, devoted to the sovereign right for each nation to achieve economic development, is being built. The Belt and Road Initiative of China, the Eurasian Economic Union, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization all belong to this New Paradigm in principle—they can serve as the foundation for an international economic architecture designed to feed the world, build necessary megaprojects of infrastructure, and drive scientific breakthroughs in fusion energy and space science needed for the next fifty years.

What may convert this potential into actuality? Is it not the passion of individuals to become a necessary force for the common good? The world depends on us to identify with the New Paradigm and manifest it, such that a beautiful vision of the future may overwhelm the pessimism and failed traditional modes of thought of the crumbling old order.

The March 28, 2022 Schiller Institute policy proposal, “The LaRouche Plan for a New International Economic Architecture,” details how the LaRouche movement intends that a New Paradigm can be created by the actions of leading nations. Our petition, “Convoke an International Conference To Establish a New Security and Development Architecture for All Nations,” has been circulated across the world and signed by more than 4,000 people, including hundreds of prominent public figures. And the Schiller Institute’s April 9 conference devoted to this theme brought together panelists from the highest levels of government, including Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

Building on that groundwork, it is time for us to make miracles!
