Insane U.S. Leadership in Bipartisan Drive for Global War

Aug. 4, 2022 (EIRNS)—The utter madness of the U.S. leadership, the Biden Administration and both the Republicans and the Democrats in the Congress, as well as their British Imperial puppet-masters, is on full display throughout the world—and the world is justly frightened by their madness. The Nancy Pelosi visit to Taiwan, which had no purpose other than to provoke a showdown with China over their sovereignty over Taiwan, has succeeded in putting the entire Chinese military on a war footing. Following a series of live-fire exercises on all four sides of Taiwan over the past 24 hours, practicing a joint blockade, sea assault, and land and sea combat training, Chinese military expert Song Zhongping told Global Times: “In the event of a future military conflict, it is likely that the operational plans currently being rehearsed will be directly translated into combat operations.”

The foreign ministers of the ten members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), meeting in Cambodia on Aug. 3, issued a joint statement expressing their extreme anxiety regarding the deadly impact on their nations of a war between the U.S. and China, whether an economic war as is being conducted already against Russia, or a proxy war fought in Taiwan, as is now being fought against Russia in Ukraine, or even a full scale U.S.-China war, potentially going nuclear. The joint statement of ASEAN’s foreign ministers said that “the recent development in the area adjacent with the ASEAN region ... could destabilize the region and eventually could lead to miscalculation, serious confrontation, open conflicts and unpredictable consequences among major powers.” They called for “maximum restraint” and for all parties to “refrain from provocative actions,” offering to “play a constructive role in facilitating peaceful dialogue between all parties.”

The madness is equally demonstrated on the western front, where the U.S. Senate voted 95-1 to admit Sweden and Finland into NATO, two countries whose neutrality had served as a symbol of peace for decades. Even more insane was the unanimous Senate vote, 100-0, on July 28 calling on the State Department to declare Russia a “state sponsor of terror.” Is any member of that august body so daft that he or she does not know what the entire world knows, and will not forget—namely, that the U.S. openly armed and funded terrorist organizations in Iraq, Libya, and Syria in order to bring down anti-terrorist governments, which were no threat to the U.S., but refused to follow dictates from the Anglo-American empire?

Bringing more shame to that once proud institution of the American Republic, Amnesty International today denounced the Nazi-infested army of Ukraine, which the Senate has repeatedly voted to arm with heavy weapons. The Amnesty International report, in extremely damning terminology, documented systematic war crimes by Ukrainian forces, that regularly “violate international humanitarian law and endanger civilians, as they turn civilians into military targets.” They report that “Amnesty International researchers witnessed such conduct in numerous locations,” corroborating these charges through the analysis of satellite imagery.

The Senate has also funded Ukraine government operations, including the Center for Countering Disinformation, the MI6/CIA front in Kiev which issued a hitlist against leading members of the Schiller Institute and others. Prominent on that list were Schiller founder Helga Zepp-LaRouche, and the LaRouche candidate for the U.S. Senate from the state of New York, Diane Sare, who is directly confronting Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.

Scott Ritter, the former Marine intelligence officer and UN weapons inspector in Iraq, who is also targeted on the Ukrainian hitlist, has taken the extremely important first step towards breaking the massive information warfare which has kept Lyndon LaRouche’s name and ideas out of the media over the last fifty years. Until Ritter’s publication of an article in Consortium News on Aug. 3, titled “Chuck Schumer’s War on Free Speech,” no coverage of the outrageous Ukrainian hitlist had acknowledged that 30 of the 72 named prominent individuals from around the world whom they accused of being propagandists for Russia, as well as “information terrorists” and “war criminals,” were members of the Schiller Institute or speakers at Schiller conferences. Ritter posted Diane Sare’s campaign poster, noting that she overcame extremely onerous requirements to get on the ballot as an independent “LaRouche candidate” against Schumer. Ritter then hit Schumer’s vile character and criminal behavior in financing a foreign organization which is publishing false and degrading accusations against his own opponent, Diane Sare, in the November election! Ritter demonstrates that Schumer himself once said: “I strongly disagree with those who advocate harassing folks if they don’t agree with you. No one should call for the harassment of political opponents. That’s not right. That’s not American.” Ritter adds: “I couldn’t have said it any better—what Chuck Schumer has done in using U.S. taxpayer money to attack his political opponents is un-American. One can only hope that the New York voters see it the same way come November.”

Helga Zepp-LaRouche took note this week that, as a result of the Pelosi provocation against China and the open call for “decoupling” the U.S. and Chinese economies, just as the U.S. and Russian economies are now almost entirely decoupled, this leaves almost no connection between the U.S. and the two most important nations which must come together if there is to be any solution to the now rapidly collapsing Western financial system. The fact that Russia and China, working with the BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) nations, are formulating a new financial architecture for trade and investment outside of the shrinking dollar sphere of dominance is potentially a step towards a new global structure for all nations—but if the estrangement of the major powers is not resolved, the competing financial systems will only aggravate the division and further lead to war.

The Schiller Institute is targeted by the warmongers precisely because we are posing the only solution—a New Bretton Woods conference which brings the world together to create the required new financial and security architecture for all nations.
