EIR LEAD EDITORIAL FOR SATURDAY OCTOBER 1, 2022
Nemesis on the Premises
Sept. 30, 2022 (EIRNS)—President Vladimir Putin today gave what is arguably the most important speech given by a Russian leader since the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991. It was a coruscating, unwelcome but necessary “wake up call” to the trans-Atlantic world. Various commentators described it as “a definitive break with the West,” although it could equally as well be termed a reassertion of the power of reason in opposition to the imperial “rule of law,” which, far from being “democratic,” is a throwback to the worst period of the Byzantine Empire, and the “in country” excesses of colonial rule in the Congo. Putin’s extensive remarks have caused reactions of white-hot hatred, of stunned awe, of deep consternation, of grudging admiration and wild enthusiasm. An analysis of the entirety will have to occur over the next days, but some things should be indicated.
One bombshell in the speech was that Putin explicitly stated that “Sanctions were not enough for the Anglo-Saxons: they moved on to sabotage. It is hard to believe but it is a fact that they organized the blasts on the Nord Stream international gas pipelines, which run along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. In fact, they began to destroy the pan-European energy infrastructure. It is clear to everyone who benefits from this. Of course, he who benefits did it.”
Putin attacked the “woke” degeneracy of the West. “Do we really want, here, in our country, in Russia, instead of ‘mum’ and ‘dad,’ to have ‘parent No. 1,’ ‘parent No. 2,’ ‘No. 3’? Have they gone completely insane? Do we want our schools to impose on our children ... the ideas that certain other genders exist along with women and men and to offer them gender reassignment surgery? Is that what we want for our country and our children? ... We have a different future, our own future.” And Putin was uncompromising on what had just been ratified into law following the week’s referenda in the four territories. “I want the Kiev authorities and their real masters in the West to hear me, so that they remember this. People living in Lugansk and Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye are becoming our citizens. Forever.”
Commentator Alex Christoforou from The Duran noted that Putin, “in one of the most important lines of his speech, said paper money like the dollar and the euro, it cannot feed people.... I think that is actually, out of everything he said, I think that line right there, it’s probably the most important.” Co-host Alexander Mercouris agreed, “yes, because it pointed to the basic economic truth of the last 30 years or 50 years if you like, and also to the underlying weakness of the Western system. It is ultimately now based on artificial money creation.” The extensive and intensive discussions now ongoing among well over 100 of the world’s nations for the need for an alternative set of financial arrangements to the dead trans-Atlantic system, including concrete measures being proposed, require the unique work and method developed by Lyndon LaRouche, both in economic program as such, and the interplay between political policy and economic policy, to succeed. The American people, for example, will never actually free their nation from the control of the “secret government” apparatus, until the United States, by reversing the suppression of Lyndon LaRouche’s work in the 1980s, rediscovers its true Constitutional nature. They must face the painful irony that it is China and Russia that most closely resemble the post-World War II intent of Franklin Roosevelt, and that the United States has come to resemble the outlook of Winston Churchill, the old imperialist, instead of that of FDR, because of the suppression of LaRouche.
There are also, we are happy to report, actual, if faint signs of intelligent life in the Congress, where Arizona’s Paul Gosar issued a set of tweets:
“Ukraine must not join NATO.
If they do, we may very well see a third world war.”
“Back home, Americans have lost everything due to Hurricane Ian. The border is open, fentanyl is killing hundreds of thousands and inflation is raging. Yet the left and the establishment right just voted to send another 12 billion to Ukraine?
“This is more America Last policy.”
“I will vote NO on sending any money to Ukraine. I REFUSE to support more war, more interventionism, and more global alliances that hurt our country. ENOUGH sponsoring death and destruction. We should be peace making….”
Yes, it is only one Congressman, and yes, it is imperfect. It is our job to bring the power of the American people to bear on the sleeping, corrupt Congress to close down the support for the NATO-Nazi aggression bankrolled by the American taxpayer, not only against Russia, but also against Europe, as seen in NATO’s “Extinction Rebellion” blowing up of Nord Stream 1 and 2.
The international forces of the LaRouche movement have upshifted the tempo, extent and quality of their intervention to shift the world away from the march of thermonuclear folly.
Helga Zepp-LaRouche of the Schiller Institute and LaRouche Independent Senate candidate Diane Sare both participated in and conducted symposia of the utmost importance to the “world correlation of forces” now assembling to find a way out, and a path upward. Helga LaRouche was a guest on the “World Today” Chinese Radio International broadcast, which discussed the topic, “What Propelled the Rise of the ‘Right-Wing’ in Europe?” Mrs. Zepp-LaRouche appeared on a panel with Dr. David Martin Jones, visiting professor at War Studies Department, Kings College, London; Dr. Cui Hongjian, head of the European Studies Department at China Institute of International Studies; and Harvey Dzodin, former vice president of ABC TV Network and a senior fellow of the Center for China and Globalization.
U.S. Senate candidate Diane Sare, Col. Richard Black (ret.), who headed the Army Criminal Law Division, and was a Virginia State Senator, and Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector and Marine intelligence officer—all of them on the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation “Blacklist/Kill List Honor Roll”—aired a morning update titled, “Is World War III Inevitable?” Later in the day, Sare held “Observe the Moon: Consider Earth from Above” with Executive Intelligence Review’s Bill Jones and John A. Fontana, a NASA Solar System Ambassador.
It will be the unique combination of full-throated intervention, well-written critique, and inspired instruction on matters such as the latest finding of additional planets in our Solar System and the higher ecology of Vladimir Vernadsky, all contained in one independent association dedicated to mastery of the physical economy standards set by founder Lyndon LaRouche, which will become the bridge that connects durable survival to this present moment. A weekly or even daily projection of the leadership of the association, as was done this Friday, the same day as Putin’s watershed speech, may be the minimum requirement for the world to get to the end of October alive. Considered from the standpoint of temporal eternity, that doesn’t seem too much to ask.
