Stoltenberg Interview Dictates to Americans, ‘Don’t Let Russia Win November Elections’

Oct. 28, 2022 (EIRNS)—NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stopped just short of telling Americans whom to vote for this November in an interview earlier this week (hint: not the Republicans threatening to pull aid from Ukraine), in his interview today with Politico. After discussing why American presence around the world is “essential” and the isolationist rhetoric from Republican politicians is worrying, he had a message for Republicans and anyone else leaning in that direction: You must stop Russia if you want to stop China. If Russia wins in Ukraine, Stoltenberg said, it would “be bad for all of us in Europe and North America, in the whole of NATO, because that will send a message to authoritarian leaders—not only Putin but also China—that by the use of brutal military force they can achieve their goals.”

Then later, in an almost veiled threat to anyone considering bucking the narrative, he said: “I’m confident that also after midterms, there will still be a clear majority in the Congress—in the House and in the Senate—for continued significant support to Ukraine.”
