Cut Them Off at the Pass

Nov. 20, 2022 (EIRNS)—Last week, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had his first experience with his Western supporters failing to shout “Amen,” after any of his many wild allegations of 2022. It calls forward the question, can the West manage the puppets that they employ in the geopolitical proxy conflicts? There was that messy case with Hitler, where he broke off from the leash.

Ukraine resumed hurling artillery shells at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. They had restrained themselves, after a fashion, the last two months, with the presence of IAEA inspectors at the plant. Now, it is “caution to the wind” as they fired at least 25 rounds over the last 48 hours. The plant reports at least one of the rounds hit the roof of the building where the fresh nuclear fuel is stored.

Russia’s Rosenergoatom nuclear power engineering company, managing the plant, describes the “reservoirs with turbine oil, and a nitrogen and oxygen plant, and hydrogen reservoirs next to them” and asks, “Can you imagine what can happen when 240 tons of oil catch fire, or when two other facilities explode?” However, the IAEA has looked the other way at artillery fire directed at the plant, under the ruse that artillery fire, were it admitted to be going on, does not affect the “critical infrastructure” that they are inspecting. Rosenergoatom’s top advisor calls this “the height of cynicism.” The only proper conclusion for the IAEA, or anyone, is to state, “it is inadmissible to shoot at a nuclear plant at all.”

U.S. President Biden on Nov. 15, last Tuesday night, actually dared to judge Zelenskyy’s outburst against actual evidence that, in fact, Russia did not launch the missile that hit Poland. That is a most welcome development. U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) stated two days ago: “I will vote No to any additional funding for Ukraine.” A welcome development. But there’s plenty more evidence that Kiev has double- and tripled-down in a flight-forward mode. It behooves the Western world to quickly and aggressively cut this flight-forward off at the pass.
