Creating a Multipolar World Committed to the Benefit of the Other

Nov. 22, 2022 (EIRNS)—“It is the criminal policy of nuclear brinkmanship, which entails the danger of the annihilation of the entire human species in a global nuclear war and following nuclear winter, which is what automatically makes every individual on Earth a world citizen, who has to take responsibility for the outcome of this present conjuncture of human history,” said Helga Zepp-LaRouche on Nov. 22, speaking at the Schiller Institute event “Stop the Danger of Nuclear War Now.”

“We therefore want to catalyze an international movement of world citizens,” she continued, “committed to propose a new international security and development architecture.”

To avoid such a system becoming merely a multipolar version of today’s unipolar world order, a multipolar collection of competing blocs, it is necessary to center such a new architecture on the image of man, the Schiller Institute founder insisted. “Man is differentiated from all other species by his gift of creative reason, that he or she is the only creature, that can again and again discover new valid principles of the physical universe, and through the application of this scientific and technological progress in the productive process, can increase the quality of life.... It is that creative potential which makes human life sacred.”

The present attempt at modern-day colonialism is running into the problem of reality. The trans-Atlantic financial system is a shambles. The U.S.-U.K.-NATO war policy against Russia and China finds fewer adherents, as the world increasingly recognizes that the “Western” emperor has no clothes, no economic vision to offer the world.

The failure of the COP27 to secure pledges for joint suicide, contrasts with the success of the BRICS, SCO, APEC, and other processes of what is called the Global South to chart a course towards development.

After laying out her ten discussion principles for a new paradigm among nations, Helga Zepp-LaRouche laid down a challenge:

“A new world economic order is emerging, involving the vast majority of the Global South. The European nations and the U.S. must not fight this effort, but by joining hands with the developing countries, must cooperate to shape the next epoch of the development of the human species to become a renaissance of the highest and most noble expressions of creativity!”

“Let us therefore create an international movement of World Citizens, who work together to shape the ... next epoch,” she concluded. “World Citizens of all countries, unite!”
