Zepp-LaRouche Tells Youth Conference, We Are in an Absolutely Revolutionary Moment of History

March 11, 2023, 2022 (EIRNS)—Helga Zepp-LaRouche today addressed a Schiller Institute Youth Conference assembled in Brooklyn and livestreamed, to discuss the theme: “To End Colonialism: A Mission for All Youth.” The six hours of presentations and discussion over two panels, heard from speakers from many nations, including the United States, Germany, India, Syria, Uganda, and Yemen. The majority of the speeches focused on visionary projects for the future, such as the Bering Strait Tunnel, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), the first Ugandan orbital satellite, Pearl AfricaSat1, and a crash program for commercial fusion energy. The attendees came from an assortment of different backgrounds, but all expressed excitement and support for a new, just security and development architecture, defined by the common aims of mankind.

Zepp-LaRouche delivered the keynote address, which laid out the dramatic moment we are living in. Excerpts follow:

“I think we are in an absolutely revolutionary moment of history. And there is no better time to be active and live than when you have such an epochal change, as we are experiencing right now....

“There is right now, as of yesterday, a diplomatic revolution going on in the entire Middle East and Southwest Asia. Now, the term ‘diplomatic revolution’ in one sense is a paradox; because either you have a diplomatic solution or you have a revolution. But in this case, it is the diplomacy which made the revolution...

“What happened yesterday is that Wang Yi [China’s top diplomat] announced that, through the mediation of China, Saudi Arabia and Iran are starting diplomatic relations within two months. This changes the entire Middle East.... Since the infamous Sykes-Picot Treaty of 1916, this region has been the cockpit for wars against Russia, for destabilization of Asia, whereby the British and the French would pit the nations of Southwest Asia against each other for manipulation.... In the recent period it was the so-called ‘humanitarian’ interventionist wars against Afghanistan, against Iraq, against Syria, the horrible civil war or war in Yemen was another result; Libya.

“This has now ended—and this is big—through diplomacy.

“This is a sign of the New Paradigm, of what can happen all over the world. This is the whole package; this is not just Saudi Arabia and Iran. This involves China, it involves the Belt and Road Initiative, it involves the BRICS countries and the 24 countries that have applied for membership in the BRICS and therefore a new economic system. It involves the end of the petrodollar, and the beginning of a new currency based on completely different principles. It involves a change in practically every country....

“Saudi Arabia is shifting to China because it perceives that China is the winner in this whole situation. Now that means, for example, Turkiye; Turkiye will also probably have negotiations with Syria fairly soon.... The existence of U.S. troops [in Syria] will be untenable. This is an absolute example of how, if you have a good will and a plan, you can actually bring peace to the entire world.

“It also means that the reconstruction of the region can start.... It means the Belt and Road Initiative, the New Silk Road, will be extended beyond Iran, beyond Pakistan, for the reconstruction of Afghanistan, and for the reconstruction of Syria and Yemen in particular....

“And it is an example which can be replicated anywhere if you apply the principle of the Global Security Initiative of China—that’s the policy of Xi Jinping—or the New International Security and Development Architecture concept which the Schiller Institute has been promoting....

“You can be absolutely sure that all the countries of the Global South will now look at China as the successful broker of this.... The unipolar world is definitely dead, and the power center in the world has just shifted. This is incredible!

“That means a lot of things will change. One thing that will change is that the role of the dollar as a world reserve currency is no longer, because of the weaponization of the dollar.... All of these countries have, for some time, started to de-dollarize—meaning that they are doing trade with their national currencies.... [They are moving] to create an alternative currency which is based on completely different principles than the dollar system was; namely, not monetarist principles, but hard commodities. And that is actually a proposal which was made many years ago by my late husband, Lyndon LaRouche, whose policies are being implemented right now to a very large extent....

“You can be sure that all the people in Ukraine, even the hardcore military, but especially the people of Ukraine who are being ground up, are looking at this peace in the Middle East and the role of China, and maybe they will have second thoughts that that may be a better solution. That if Ukraine is developed in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative by building the corridors between Europe and Asia, Ukraine can be reconstructed, rather than being ground up to the last Ukrainian. So, this is a very ripe moment....

“We have to mobilize to get a new security and development architecture which will allow the survival of all people on this planet. I think this development in the Middle East is one gigantic step in the right direction.”
